New Year's Resolutions & Goals 2019

Happy New Year everyone! I’m really hoping for a great 2019 because the end of 2018 was something that I just couldn’t wait to get behind me. January’s are never my favorite month, in fact, I would say it is my least favorite month of the year, but it does mean a fresh start and a new year to get things accomplished. Just like last year, I’ll be sharing my New Year’s resolutions and goals for 2019 with all of you.

New Year’s Resolutions

Start: eating healthy again & cutting back on sugar

I really proud of myself this past year with cooking for myself, and I’ve lost 13 pounds in the past six months since I’ve been tracking it again. I want to get back on track with eating healthier and cutting back on my sugar consumption because since I’ve been home on Christmas break that has been pretty high on holiday sweets. I’m going to start tracking my food again for a little while to get back on track.

Create: more memories & document them

I want to do more fun things next year, and I want to document them so I can look back on them and remember them. I have many instances where I’ve had a great time with people, but don’t take photos so I don’t remember them in the long term.

Learn: how to invest my money

I’m graduating next year, so I’m currently trying to budget a bit more and learning how to invest my money. I’ve started using the Robinhood app to invest some money to learn how the stock market works. I’m hoping to invest more in 2019 and see that money grow, hopefully! See: more positive people

I want to create better relationships and friendships in 2019. I have a few close friends that I’d really like to get closer to, so I’m hoping those will grow even more in 2019.

Try: new foods

I really love cooking, but I want to try to get out of my comfort zone and try some new foods and learn how to cook different foods. I really want to try sushi and more vegetables, just to name a few. I want to learn how to cook for myself other than eating sandwiches and pasta for every meal.

How did I do on my 2018 goals?

My 2018 goals were to break-even on blog expenses, stop being afraid to be the real me, make healthier choices, and to read 20 books. 

I did not break-even on blog expenses, but I’m okay with that. This is just a hobby for me and I’m okay with putting in the investment for this.

I don’t think I showed the real me, but that’s something I’m still working on.

I did make healthier choices and I’m proud of that and continuing that in 2019.

I read 36 books in 2018, surpassing my goal! Read everything I read in 2018 here.
