May Beauty & Lifestyle Favorites

So this monthly favorites post was supposed to go with my updates post, but that ended up being a very long post so this one gets its own. I was surprised that I actually came up with a few new products that I’ve been using a lot this month. I’ve been off of school and work for most of the month, so I’ve just been doing a lot of relaxing and a little shopping too, oops!

Current Favorites:

    • Loving Tan Deluxe Bronze Mousse: I’ve heard about Loving Tan for probably years of watching YouTube, but I never realized that they sold it in Ulta, so I decided to pick one up in time for summer. Now I get what the hype is about because this is an amazing self-tanner. I picked up the dark shade because I wanted to be darker for summer and it gets pretty dark, but not so dark that it looks fake on my normally pale skin. It’s fairly easy to use, I do get some missed places pretty often, but I think that’s just me not using enough. It’s super long lasting though and lasts about a week with some fading.
    • EOS Shave Cream: Since it’s summer, I need to have smooth legs more often. This has to be my favorite shave cream ever. It’s super hydrating and just lets the razor glide over the skin. It also gets a lot closer shave than if I used a traditional shave cream. Super affordable too, only $4 at Ulta and they are doing a BOGO deal on them right now, so I may need to go pick some up pretty soon!
    • Glossier Balm dot Com: So first of all, the coconut scent is perfect for summer. Second of all, if you need a long lasting lip balm this is it. I’ll put this one and it will stay on for a few hours even when I’m sipping on water. It doesn’t stay on through a meal, but I don’t expect it to. I picked up the birthday cake scent as well and love that one too!
    • Lush Imperialis: This is moisturizer supposed to balance your skin and I feel like I need that! I love that it has a slight scent of lavender as I use this as a nighttime moisturizer. My skin pulls more oily in the summer, and I haven’t had a problem yet of this making my skin more oily than it already is.

!function(doc,s,id){ var e, p, cb; if(!doc.getElementById(id)) { e = doc.createElement(s); = id; cb = new Date().getTime().toString(); p = ‘//’ + cb; e.src = p; doc.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.ss_shopsense === ‘object’){ if(doc.readyState === ‘complete’){ window.ss_shopsense.init(); } } }(document, ‘script’, ‘shopsensewidget-script’);

Health & Fitness

I actually wrote a whole post on some of my current fitness favorites (read that here), so that pretty much sums of what I’ve been using lately at the gym and probably be using the whole summer.

I’ve been trying to incorporate more cardio, so I’ve been running on the treadmill a few times although it does hurt my knees and ankles some because I have pretty weak joints. I also did a couple of HIIT workout videos that I found on YouTube and I actually enjoyed doing them. They get you hella sweaty in a short amount of time and really get the heart rate up.

I just finished up season two of 13 Reason’s Why and man was that intense. This show is pretty controversial, but it covers real topics that many people struggle with and it has the ability to start a conversation which I think is important to do. I enjoyed this season, but I do think some of the topics were a little hard to watch.

On a happier note, The Bachelorette is back on! Becca was one of my favorites from Arie’s season (I even correctly picked her to win!), so after the misfortunate break-up, I was happy she was the new bachelorette. Only a few of the guys really impressed me in the first episode, but they always get more entertaining as the show goes on. Are any of you watching this? What do you think so far?

When the weather was nice, I really enjoyed laying out in my hammock and reading my book. I ordered the hammock from Amazon, and it’s a good quality hammock that didn’t cost a lot of money. I think I do need to order longer straps because the trees in my yard are pretty far away from each other, but otherwise not complaints.

Lastly, I finally got my double ear piercing done. I’ve been wanting this done for probably like six years but I just finally got up the courage to do it. I was a little nervous because I didn’t remember the pain from my last ear piercing because I had it done when I was nine. The acutal piercing didn’t hurt very much, but it did take like two weeks for it to not be uncomfortable to sleep on. Now I’m a month in and so happy I finally did it!
