May 2018 Recap & Updates

May Favorites & Updates

May has been an eventful month, to say the least! I finished up my second year of college, I wrote a lot more in this post if you want to learn a bit more about my semester. The picture above is one my brother took of me. I’ve been making him take pictures for me ever since I’ve been home, and I think my training has turned him into quite the good photographer. Also, I’m in love with this top (I found a similar top here) that I picked up in the Target clearance section! I always have good luck searching through there and I get to save a little money in the process.

!function(doc,s,id){ var e, p, cb; if(!doc.getElementById(id)) { e = doc.createElement(s); e.id = id; cb = new Date().getTime().toString(); p = ‘//shopsensewidget.shopstyle.com/widget-script.js?cb=1528143672976?cb=’ + cb; e.src = p; doc.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.ss_shopsense === ‘object’){ if(doc.readyState === ‘complete’){ window.ss_shopsense.init(); } } }(document, ‘script’, ‘shopsensewidget-script’);

I also launched my photography Instagram this month. I really want to get behind the camera some more and take pictures for people, but for now, I just have a few that I’ve taken over time. Also when we went out for these shots it was the most beautiful weather! The trees were just starting to bloom, it was a little overcast and just the perfect temperature. I’m glad spring was around for a few days before it started getting boiling hot.

Shania Twain

My dad, sister, and I went to the Shania Twain concert when she was in town and it was so much fun! Shania is one of the first artists I remember really listening to when I was a kid and I loved her music! The concert was everything I could have wanted and I loved belting out to all of her music.

Graduation

My family and I celebrated my brother’s graduation this month. All of us kids are now out of high school and it’s crazy how old we are all getting. My parents are also going to be empty nesters by the end of the summer. His graduation was a good day and I had a fun time seeing family and friends at his party! Also, my dress is from Target (shocker I know!) and it’s beautiful and very comfortable!

Twin Cities

The day after graduation, my dad, brother, and I headed up to the Twin Cities for a little weekend trip. We, of course, stopped by Mall of America for a little shopping. My dad and brother hate shopping though, so I was a little limited with how much time I could spend there and only went to Lush and Old Navy and picked up a few things. A Lush haul will be coming up soon!

We went to the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory in St. Paul mostly because it was free and close to our hotel, which luckily had a shuttle service for me and my brother to use. It was a cool zoo, I loved seeing the giraffes getting fed! Most of the animals were sleeping when we were there, so it was a pretty quick trip around the park.

Later that night I went to my first baseball game for the Twins. I actually enjoyed watching it and it went a lot quicker than I expected! It was a little chilly that night, but it turned out to be pretty good weather for watching a baseball game.

On the last day there we took a quick visit to the state capitol building. It was a pretty building, but not much to see as most of the rooms are closed to visitors. My brother and I were really just trying to waste time waiting for our dad. The shuttle service was not the most convenient thing that day and was going to leave us there for like three hours when we needed to check out, so we took an Uber because we didn’t realize how close our hotel actually was.

Then it was just a quick drive to Ikea to pick up a new dresser and nightstand for my college apartment and then we were on our way home!

Okay, so this turned out to be a very long post, so I’m going to post my favorites separately so it doesn’t get lost in here. That post should be up on Monday, so stay tuned!
