April Favorites & Updates

April Favorites & Updates

April was definitely my busiest month yet! I was busy finishing up classes, club activities, banquets, and just lots of end of year things. I’m sorry I haven’t written any blog posts in a while, but I should be on schedule for a while now until I start up work in June. I’m so happy with how my year ended and glad to say that college is officially growing on me!

Life Updates:

The pictures above were actually from April 14. Yep, typically South Dakota blizzard in the middle of April. Fortunately, it melted fairly quickly and started to warm up. Now we’re in the in-between of spring and summer, so at least the temperature is nice!

My brother also had his senior prom the next weekend. I was able to play photographer for his group of friends and it was a lot of fun! The pictures turned out great (I won’t share here for privacy reasons), and everyone was fun to work with. I’ve been really into my photography this month and hope to keep that momentum in the future.

Since I’m writing this during the second week of May, I’ve finished up finals and have gotten my grades back. I’m happy that spring semester went so well for me. Now I’m looking forward to having a few months off of school!

Current Favorites:

Beauty

I’ve kind of realized that I don’t switch my makeup products very often! I was going through last months post and most of those were still my favorites for this month! So, go read that to get a few more products, but I did find a few new ones to feature this month.

First of all, the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer is my favorite summer bronzer. It’s the perfect bronzer to just warm up the skin, and make myself look a little more tan. Plus whenever I used my Tarte Brazillance Plus Self-Tanner it helps keep my face matching my body after it wears off my face. This self-tanner is super foolproof, which is great for me even though I’m not a self-tan beginner! It’s a lotion and it comes with a mitt, which is so much better than the other ones I have tried. It is a little pricey but lasts a long time.

I don’t know if this is one of my all-time favorites yet, but the Glossier Boy Brow has been great so far! I always set my brows even if I don’t fill them in just to keep them from being unruly. I have the clear version, so I just get the setting power and not the color. I like that this sets them without making them crunchy.

!function(doc,s,id){ var e, p, cb; if(!doc.getElementById(id)) { e = doc.createElement(s); e.id = id; cb = new Date().getTime().toString(); p = ‘//shopsensewidget.shopstyle.com/widget-script.js?cb=1525982289080?cb=’ + cb; e.src = p; doc.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.ss_shopsense === ‘object’){ if(doc.readyState === ‘complete’){ window.ss_shopsense.init(); } } }(document, ‘script’, ‘shopsensewidget-script’);

Health & Fitness

I’ve been keeping up with my workouts this whole month, only missing a few days here or there. My goal is to hit the gym at least three times a week, but I’ve mostly been sticking to four. I’ve been using an app called Done to keep track of my goals along with a little tracker in my planner that I fill out whenever I work out. These Bluetooth headphones have been great to wear during my workouts, and they’re not too expensive either!

Since I’ve been home for summer I can finally make some of my own meals and try to eat healthily. My fitness is a constant work in progress, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come in two months!

EntertainmentApril Favorites & Updates

I’m going to just focus shows I’ve been watching on Hulu and Netflix. First off, I watched all of Younger on Hulu and I loved it! It was weird how much I related to Liza, but not surprising because I really am a 40-year-old in a 20-year-old body. If you’re in the communication field of any sort, I think you’ll like this show!

To no surprise, I’ve been watching lots of Gilmore Girls. I seriously love Rory and Logan. I’m always torn between if I think Rory should be with Jess or Logan, but I think Logan has got it for me. Jess is also great and I love the episodes he’s in, but Life and Death Brigade is one of my favorite episodes!

Also started watching the current season of Grey’s Anatomy. It’s been a good season so far, and it’s been keeping me really entertained. All of Grey’s is great, and there also is tons of reruns on Lifetime that I turn on during the day now in summer!

I always turn these posts into such long ones, but let me know if you like this style of post!
