Currently Reading, Watching, & Listening To Lately Winter Edition

I guess I’m making this a series on the blog now! I’ve done two of these posts (check out my last one here) in the past and have now decided to make this a quarterly post here. It’s basically just my lifestyle favorites and an excuse to post my Spotify playlists on here. Anyways, let’s get on with this post!

One of my New Year’s Resolutions was to read more, and I think I have successfully done that! I have read 7 books so far this year and I’m very close to finishing my 8th. I’ve gotten into reading Kindle books off my phone before bed, so that has really helped me read more.

Just for a little run down here’s what I’ve read so far in 2018: Wanderlost by Jen Malone, Lucky in Love by Kasie West, Hello? by Liza M. Wiemer, Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes, What I Didn’t Say by Keary Taylor, A Quiet Kind of Thunder by Sara Barnard, and Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur.

Out of these books, I’ll recommend two that you guys should really read. Hello? follows five points of view all linked together by a phone call. The stories are all linked and just flow really nicely.

One HELLO can change a life. One HELLO can save a life.
Tricia: A girl struggling to find her way after her beloved grandma’s death.
Emerson: A guy who lives his life to fulfill promises, real and hypothetical.
Angie: A girl with secrets she can only express through poetry.
Brenda: An actress and screenplay writer afraid to confront her past.
Brian: A potter who sets aside his life for Tricia, to the detriment of both.

A Quiet Kind of Thunder has been on my to be read list for awhile now and I finally got a chance to read it. I really enjoyed this book. It’s a unique storyline and the writing is beautiful.

Steffi doesn’t talk, but she has so much to say.
Rhys can’t hear, but he can listen.
Their love isn’t a lightning strike, it’s the rumbling roll of thunder.

Watching

I’ve watched quite a bit of TV lately and wrote a whole post here of some of the shows I’ve been watching lately. So I’ll just update on the shows that aren’t from that post. I recently starting rewatching Gilmore Girls and have fallen back in love with this show! I just got the part where Rory and Jess get together and am swooning. I also picked back up Scandal after taking a break from the summer. I’m on the fifth season and I’m still enjoying it.

Just an honorable mention to the Bachelor Winter Games. I didn’t think I would like this show as much as I did, but man it was good and so enticing. Dean definitely redeemed himself on this show! The couples were so cute and it was fun watching them compete. I hope they bring something like this back in the future!

Listening

Lot’s of country songs from Dan + Shay, Thomas Rhett and some other artists. I think I didn’t listen to country music for so long that I’m just catching up! Also lots from Taylor Swift’s new music. I’ve been trying lately to find new music and so far it’s been successful with my new spring playlist. One of my favorites has to be Enough by Alex Roe. It’s from the movie Forever My Girl and it’s a really good song, go give it a listen if you like country music.

Let me know what you’ve been consuming lately, I always need some new suggestions!
