How I Stay Organized in College

How I Stay Organized in College

Maybe I’m a weird person, but I love organizing things? Not only is organization so important while in college, but it can be fun too! I have a pretty busy life in college and running a blog, so I have to keep on top of things a lot. As a sophomore, I’ve learned what has worked for me to stay organized and have a few tips for you guys too!

I love having a physical planner, checking things off just gives me a lot of satisfaction and writing down everything I have to do in a week makes it not seem as stressful. I wrote a whole post about my planner essentials, so give that a read if you love pens and highlighters as much as I do! Here’s a similar planner that I use, if you fancy one.

Each week I sit down with my syllabi and write down all my homework assignments and any tests for the week. I usually give them a quick glance for the upcoming week to see if I have anything I need to work on in the future.

I use the monthly layout to keep track of days off school, events I’m going to, and travel plans (even though most of them are just going home!). I also try to put major tests in here like midterms and finals so I’m prepared for when they show up.

This is a recent find for me, but I really love using it! This is a to-do list app, but the best part is that you can make lists for days or just for general assignments. I use this for everything from my work to-dos for the semester, my shopping lists, or things I need to grab when I go home. It’s basically been a lifesaver lately. I’ve also been using it to plan out blog content as well, so I can check them off once I get them written. This is a free app, so I recommend downloading it and trying it out. If you love checking things off, you’re going to love using this to stay organized.

Google Calendar & iCal

Google Calendar is what I use to plan out my blog content for the month. It makes it easy to plan everything out for the whole month and see it at a glance, I also have the app on my phone so I know which pictures I still need to take for upcoming posts.

iCal is how I organize all my appointments, work, and club schedules. I actually prefer the set up of Google calendar, but since this easily syncs with my phone and computer I’m using this at the moment. Plus I don’t want things to be too cluttered on my blog editorial calendar and I love having the app right on my computer.

What do you do to keep yourself organized?
