Cold Weather Shower Essentials

Cold Weather Shower Essentials

I’m one of those people that loves to switch up their products for each season. I try to rotate products based on my hair or skin needs, which definitely evolve between summer and winter. Showers are one of my favorite things, so I tend to spend a little longer in them in the winter because they are so warm and cozy. Here are the products that have been on rotation this winter season.

My hair needs a little extra hydration this time of year. I have a dry scalp all year long, but it gets particularly worse in the winter. Right now I’ve been using the Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo and Conditioner from OGX. These are super hydrating for my hair. The smell also helps remind me of summer because of the coconut! I’m also trying to do hair masks more often and picked up a set that included the Kristen Ess Reconstructive Hair Mask. I love how soft this makes my hair feel after using it, great for dehydrated strands.

I found an old bottle of Winter Candy Apple shower gel and decided it needed to get used up. This is a classic Bath and Body Works winter scent and it smells delicious. I’ve also been using the Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion to keep my skin extra hydrated. You apply this to wet skin and then wash it off. I also follow it with a regular lotion after, but the combination is perfect for winter skin.

I’m still following this skincare routine to help with my acne-prone skin, but I’m now trying to do that without over drying my skin. I switched my cleanser over to the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser. This is really good at removing dirt and oil but doesn’t strip the skin from moisture or make it feel tight at all. I love how squeaky clean my skin feels after using it, and so far my skin has been loving it.

How do you change up your shower products in the winter?

  1. These are all great products! I notice that my scalp always gets so dry in the winter, and my hair ends up super dry as well. I think trying a hair mask is a great idea to hydrate it more.
