Fashion for the Everyday College Girl

Fashion for the Everyday College Girl

College fashion for me is very simple, I’m all about comfort and simplicity but also trying to look somewhat stylish. This is a very simple list of pieces that a college girl would need.

1. Sweatshirts

Going to school in South Dakota, it gets very cold very quickly. I’ve been living in sweatshirts since mid-October. Some of my favorites are crew necks from my university and some from PINK. I have my eye on this one right now!

2. T-Shirts

Again another piece so simple to throw on in the morning a few minutes before heading out to class. I have a large collection of t-shirts from university and traveling places. These are great to throw on under sweatshirts as well in case class is a little hot. Also, long-sleeved tees are perfect for winter!

3. Layering Pieces

If you want to look a little nicer, throw on a nice flannel or cardigan. These can spice up a simple tee and make it look a little dressier. American Eagle is one of my favorite places to shop for affordable pieces that last a long time. This cardigan looks super cozy and this flannel has been on repeat for me.

4. Jeans

Wearing jeans makes a simple tee look a lot more dressed up than anything else, but I still like to be comfortable. American Eagle makes the best jeggings because they are soft and comfortable. They have really cute ripped ones and also just plain ones that are easy to throw on every day. I have so many of these and they are the only jeans I buy anymore.

5. Leggings

On lazy days, I like to throw on a nice pair of leggings. Black leggings are cute and comfortable and easy to match with everything. I picked some up from Old Navy recently and they are the perfect thickness. Target also has some great affordable leggings as well.

6. Sneakers

I basically wear sneakers every day to class. Having to walk all around campus gets very tiring, so I need a comfortable pair. I love having a pair of black and white Nikes because they match with everything.

7. Boots

Comfy boots are also a necessity in SD winters. Right now I’m relying on my Uggs to get me through the colder days. I also got some Sperry duck boots last year, so these will be in the rotation this year as well. I’m on the lookout for some more cute boots too!

8. Dress Clothes

Although this is not an everyday necessity, it is something that should be in your closet. I’ve had a few times where I needed to be dressed nice for class, so I make sure to keep some nice shirts in my closet that can be worn with nice jeans or dress pants.
