Chit Chat: 20 Things I’ve Learned in 20 Years

chit chat: 20 things in 20 years

Well, I’m 20 years old now.  Crazy that I’m not a teenager anymore! This year has been one of the most interesting years of my life. I really have a feeling that my 20s are going to be good years, and although I’m sad to be leaving the teen years behind, on to 20!

I just wanted to recap a few things from this year and a few things that I’ve learned throughout my life that really mean something to me in my 20 years of life.

1. Family will always be there for you.

Thanks for being my best friends!

2. Eat the ice cream.

It’s delicious and makes any situation better.

3. Don’t be afraid to splurge.

Buy the makeup, shoes, whatever. It’s worth it.

4. Try not so much to care what other people think.

Because really they don’t care.

5. Work hard in school.

It will be worth it in the end.

6. Dream big.

Let your dreams soar as high as the sky.

7. Save your money.

You’ll thank yourself later for saving most of your paychecks.

8. Try hard in your friendships.

They mean a lot.

9. Go to concerts.

Have fun and sing along!

10. Eat what you want.

Eat healthily, but eat what you like.

11. Jamming in your car is always a good idea.

It’s honestly just fun.

12. Don’t stress about finding your person.

You’re young, you’ll find him someday.

13. Do things you want to do, not what you think you’re expected to do.

It’s your world, make your own choices.

14. Don’t know what you want to do with your life.

You’ll find it often.

15. Travel, often.

As often as you can, it’s a blast.

16. Buy plants.

They make your room pretty and full of life.

17. Wear whatever you want.

Leggings and sweatshirts every day, who cares!

18. Don’t rely on others for everything.

You’ll learn how to live on your own (but thanks mom for everything!)

19. Do things for yourself.

Watch Netflix, read a book, put on a face mask. Self-care is the best care.

20. Live your best life.

No one else can live it for you. Be happy, live free.
