16 Things I Learned in 16 Weeks of College | Freshman Year Spring

16 Things I Learned in 16 Weeks of College

I am now officially done with my first year of college! I did this post at the end of my last semester and it’s crazy how much I’ve already changed in only four months. College has been one of the most challenging times of my life, but I’ve grown as a person so much throughout this time. I’m so happy to be home for the summer now though and focus some more on getting blog content out regularly!

  1. You will find great friends who make college so much more worth it.
  2. Taco Tuesday is a must every week.
  3. Joining clubs is such a great way to be more connected with your school.
  4. They are also a great way to meet people.
  5. Having a great roommate can make college life so much better.
  6. Don’t be afraid to go home every weekend, it’s perfectly fine.
  7. Don’t live your life for other people, you are the most important.
  8. Open up to people more, friendships are much better this way.
  9. Don’t let bad people continue to affect your life.
  10. Having a part-time job will be a great time filler.
  11. Classes are hard, but you can do anything.
  12. Getting a 4.0 is also not the most important thing.
  13. Speech class is one of the best classes I have taken.
  14. You’ll meet a lot of cool people in your major.
  15. I never thought I would be sad to leave college this semester.
  16. You will grow and turn into a better person.

I’m excited to see what the next years of college will bring for me. Just remember that no matter the hard times you experience, they will get better, I promise. College is a time to grow and change and meet new people and experience new things.

  1. How was your experience living in ben reifel? Ive very undecided on where I want to live, either in a traditional hall in an LLC or somewhere a bit nicer such as ben reifel.

    1. Hi Abigail! I liked living in Ben Reifel, but mostly just because the rooms were nicer. I found it harder to meet people on my floor vs people I knew who lived in the older dorms. I think any of the dorms are a good choice, just have to make the best one for you!
