Winter Skincare Routine for Combination Skin

Winter Skincare Routine for Combination Skin

My skin suffers a lot during the winter. My combination skin comes off of being more oily, to being super dry. So this year I’ve made it a mission to find products that are going to help my skin and keep it hydrated as well. I also suffer from acne every once and a while, so I also need products for that concern. My skin is still not perfect, but it’s getting better and that’s what matters.

I wear makeup pretty much every day, and I’ve found that makeup removing wipes are harsh on my skin, so I pretty much stick to the Garnier Micellar Water to remove my makeup. I just put a little on a cotton pad and it can get my whole face of makeup off super fast and easy.

For cleansing, I love using Biore products. Right now I’m on rotation between the Baking Soda Pore Cleanser and the Charcoal Acne Clearing Cleanser. These meet two of my concerns for my skin and work well on keeping my face clean. I also like using the Acne Clearing Scrub when I need exfoliation or when my skin is extra hormonal and full of breakouts.

Next is moisturizers, which I used to be super lazy on applying before realizing that they are very important to your skin care. In the morning, I use the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. It works well to heal dry patches and actually works very well under makeup.

In the evening, I just incorporated the Lush Celestial Facial Moisturizer (review) to my routine. It a powerful moisturizer and perfect to let sink in over night. It is also great to sensitive skin. When my skin is extra dry, I use the Josie Maran Argan Oil under my moisturizer. This oil is pure argan oil and super great at keeping my skin healthy.

When I need to treat breakouts I use Clean and Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment. It does a great job at treating my acne and doesn’t overly dry out my skin. I also love that it’s clear so when I apply it at night it doesn’t freak other people out.
