Maybelline Color Tattoos | Are They Worth the Hype?

Maybelline Color Tattoos

Back a few years ago, I couldn’t go on YouTube or blogs without hearing about the Maybelline Color Tattoos. These were some of the first eyeshadows the I picked up, but are they worth the hype?

Maybelline Color Tattoos Barely Branded and Creamy Beige

These are cream formula eyeshadows with some serious pigmentation.  They are beautiful all over the lid or underneath other eyeshadows. These also work great as primers for other eyeshadows and work just like a normal primer, but with some color in them. I find that they don’t crease or smudge, but they also don’t set up too fast that you aren’t able to work with them.

Maybelline Barely Branded Swatch and Maybelline Creamy Beige Swatch

Creamy Beige: A matte, warm brown. This was the first one I picked up over a year ago, and it still is very creamy and pigmented. I love using this one all over the lid and then putting shimmer on top and it really makes the eyeshadow pop.

Barely Branded: A slightly shimmery nude, gold color. I bought this one originally just to use as an eyeshadow base, but it turns out this one is so beautiful as well. The color is very light, and when worn on its own it just makes your eyes look open and awake. It also helps counteract some of the veins that are on my eyelids and works great to layer crease shades on top. Also does work great as a primer because the color isn’t very intense, so other colors blend beautifully on top of it.

Are these worth the hype? Yes, they completely are! For the affordable price and great color options, everyone should add at least one of these to their collection. Although I don’t find myself wearing these every single day, I do turn to them when I don’t know what eye look to do.
