I’m not really one to set specific New Year’s Resolutions during the new year, but I thought I would try out some smaller ones that may be easier to achieve. I think this is something that will help keep me accountable and on track to having a great 2017!
Eat More Mindful
This is going to be my real “resolution” but I want to be more mindful of what I’m putting into my body. I’ve been calorie tracking via MyFitnessPal for a year now, but I don’t really think it’s made me make better choices with my eating. When I’m back at college, I want to choose healthier options and eliminate my daily latte from the mix for something else. I don’t like to deprive myself, but I want to try and start living a healthier lifestyle.
Use More, Buy Less
I’ve grown quite the makeup collection in the past year, but I’ve found myself being too lazy to even put on mascara in the past couple of months. I’m not saying that I need to wear makeup every day, but I should be getting better use out of the products that brought me such joy when I bought them. I also feel a lot more confident with some makeup on and I’ll be starting a part-time job this semester that I should look more presentable for.
Spend Less Time on My Phone
This is such a needed one for me because college offered me so much free-time that I didn’t know what to do with, so I spent it staring at my phone. I’d like to start limiting the time I’m spending on it and try to be more present around me. This also means spending less time playing stupid games, which I need to quit! I also want to start reading more books, although part of them will be on my Kindle app. I used to read all the time in high school and I need to get back into it.
Don’t Worry, Be Happy
The amount of anxiety I’ve gotten since starting college is not okay in my book. I’m worried constantly about things that are not even in my control. It’s going to be another big transition during the Spring semester, but I’m going to be doing things that make me happy and cutting the people out of my life that have not been a good influence on my happiness. College should be a happy and memorable time of my life, but so far it’s been pretty awful. I’m hoping that making a few changes to implement more happiness into my life will make a difference.
